May marks sixth consecutive record-breaking month for incoming tourism to Israel
Latest News Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010PITTSBURGH, PA. — According to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, 309,000 tourists visited Israel in May 2010, an all time record for the month of May. This marks the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking tourism to Israel. This was an increase of 33 percent over May 2009 and 4 percent over May 2008.
Over 1.4 million tourists have visited Israel since the beginning of the year, an increase of 42 percent over the same period last year and 11 percent more than 2008, which was Israel’s record year for tourism to date.
Much of the record-breaking success can be attributed to the dramatic increase in Christian visitors to Israel thanks to Israel Ministry of Tourism’s Christian campaign, Visit Israel –You’ll Never Be the Same, developed by Pittsburgh-based advertising agency, Infinity Concepts, as a way of expressing the spiritual transformation experienced by Christians when they visit Israel.
“For Christian travelers to Israel, the single greatest comment is the spiritual change that they experience,” said Mark Dreistadt, President and CEO of Infinity Concepts. “Israel is the land of the Bible. There is no other place like it on earth! There are many enjoyable vacation destinations in the world, but only Israel connects you with the roots of your faith in a way that is truly life-changing.”
The hallmark of the You’ll Never Be the Same brand is that a trip to Israel is safe, affordable, and transforming. It is this promise of a life-changing experience that is the cornerstone of all marketing communications inviting Christians to visit Israel.
