Dr. Steven Steinhilber, president of Luther Rice College and Seminary.

Dr. James Flanagan, president of Luther Rice College and Seminary, along with Jimmy Cox, Board of Trustees chair, announced today the appointment of Dr. Steven Steinhilber as the institution’s 5th president.

The search was led by members of the Board of Trustees who unanimously selected Dr. Steinhilber to succeed Dr. James Flanagan, president of 27 years. Dr. Flanagan observed, “I am grateful for the Board of Trustees’ decision to elect Dr. Steven Steinhilber as the fifth President of Luther Rice College and Seminary. I will be praying for and encouraging Dr. Steinhilber and will continue to enthusiastically support the work and ministry of Luther Rice.”

Dr. Steinhilber, an alumnus of Luther Rice College and Seminary, has faithfully served Luther Rice for nine years, most recently as the Executive Vice President. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Master of Arts in Apologetics and Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College and Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Clamp Divinity School of Anderson University, SC.

In addition to his work at Luther Rice, Dr. Steinhilber has served in a variety of ministerial positions including youth ministry, the foreign mission field, and the pastorate.

Dr. Steinhilber and his wife, Crystal, have been married for 21 years. They have one married daughter who lives in the Metro-Atlanta area.

In reflection, Dr. Steinhilber stated, “Luther Rice has been blessed for 60 years with faithful leaders who loved the Lord, served with urgency, and pioneered the idea of distance education. I would like to thank Dr. Flanagan for his many years of service and love for the Luther Rice family. I am extremely humbled by this appointment and equally excited to continue the legacy of Luther Rice and these faithful leaders. Our adherence to the inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of Scripture will never waiver as we look to provide more ways to serve the church and community by delivering a biblically-based education for Christian men and women for ministry and the marketplace.”

Dr. Steinhilber’s tenure as president of Luther Rice College and Seminary will begin on July 1, 2021.
