CONNECT, LEARN AND GROW WITH PEERS IN THE NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY

BMWL National Nonprofit Conference set to analyze major new tax law and brief non-profit leaders across the country on key developments

Held annually for more than 30 years, the Batts Morrison Wales & Lee (BMWL) National Nonprofit Conference continues to affirm BMWL’s commitment to supporting those who serve others.
This full-day virtual event, broadcasting live on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, promises to provide non-profit leaders with timely and practical insights into the latest tax, financial, and regulatory developments affecting the non-profit sector.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, beginning with Conference host Mike Batts sharing his deep expertise in non-profit tax and financial matters with a high-level executive briefing. Batts will dissect major new federal tax legislation that significantly impacts non-profit organizations and their donors. He will also analyze a recent landmark US Supreme Court ruling, recent trends in charitable giving, and other Capitol Hill developments relevant to non-profit leaders.

Attendees will then dive into a robust lineup of sessions presented by thought leaders in the non-profit space covering topics like:

  • Steering clear of cyber fraudsters
  • Navigating financial reporting with significant debt
  • Distinctions and implications of restricted versus preferenced donations
  • Much more!

Each session is crafted to deliver actionable insights to assist non-profit leaders in leading their organizations effectively in an ever-changing environment.

The Conference is most beneficial to those in leadership positions (CEO, CFO, COO) or whose primary responsibilities are included in the finance and/or accounting departments (director, controller, administrator, accountant, etc.) within a non-profit organization. While the Conference is an invitation-only event, interested non-profit leaders are welcome to request an invitation to participate. Early-bird Conference registration rates will be available until July 29, 2025, and registration officially closes on August 21, 2025.

The Conference also offers attendees the ability to earn continuing education credits. The content of this program is approved for NASBA CPE credits for CPAs and The Church Network CEU credits for Certified Church Administrators. The Conference is also eligible for attorneys to receive MCLE credit in the state of Texas and CLE credit in the state of Florida.

The BMWL team looks forward to another great event to help attendees navigate the complexities of the non-profit sector and better drive positive change within their organizations and communities.
