Crosses Across America

“If we take up the cross handsomely, we shall find it just such a burden as wings are to a bird.” So wrote Samuel Rutherford, Scottish Presbyterian theologian an author in the 1600s.

Even as some contemporary churches forsook crosses and other imagery on their buildings, for fear of alienating non-believers, other churches continue to raise the cross of Christ higher.

The following photo album/slideshow is a continuation of Crosses in the July 2010 issue of Church Executive. All of the crosses shown are courtesy of Headrick, Laurel, MS.
