MANASSAS, Va., Sept. 26, 2014 /Christian Newswire — “Proclaim” is the theme for the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention, sponsored by the National Religious Broadcasters, to be held February 23-26, 2015, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN. Christian media and ministry professionals are invited to join the thousands who will attend to network, to discover new resources, and to expose themselves to the latest tips, trends, and insights in communications.
Intentionally broad, the Proclaim theme is biblically based on Psalm 105:1 and meant to promote evangelistic, media, and societal engagement in line with the mission of NRB, a nonprofit organization devoted to advancing biblical truth, promoting media excellence, and defending free speech. The 2015 event will be held as NRB completes its 70th year as an association. Registration for NRB15 opened this week and a new mobile-responsive website for the convention was unveiled at nrbconvention.org. Early-bird rates will be available until Saturday, November 15.
“NRB15: Proclaim provides a venue for Christians in media and ministry to find connections, resources, and insights that will help them be more effective in reaching people and making an impact,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “With the changes we’re seeing technologically and culturally, the annual NRB Convention has become a must-attend for more and more Christian communicators.”
Every year, the NRB International Christian Media Convention draws a wide range of participants, including radio and TV station owners and operators, pastors, church media professionals, radio and TV program producers, college educators, students, film producers, Web and mobile developers, social media managers, marketing representatives, and ministry staff members.
A highlight of the annual gathering is the bustling Exposition, the largest marketplace dedicated to Christian media professionals seeking to harness the power of electronic media to spread the Gospel. Showcasing their products and services on 135,000 square feet of exhibit space will be around 200 companies, ministries, and organizations, including broadcasters, nonprofits, educational institutions, publishers, media agencies, and broadcast equipment and software companies. And this year, for the first time, admission to the Expo floor will be free.
Then there are the speakers, of which there are dozens. NRB15 speakers will include David Platt, Priscilla Shirer, George Barna, Guy Kawasaki, Alex & Stephen Kendrick, Erwin Lutzer, Mark Burnett & Roma Downey, Ed Stetzer, Robert Jeffress, Billy Kim, Claire Diaz-Ortiz, and Kristina Halvorson.
Also, after a phenomenal first year, the Digital Media Summit will be back with cutting-edge leaders in the areas of Web, mobile, and social media, including representatives from Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The all-day, innovation-packed event will cover the latest and greatest insights into today’s increasingly digital world. It takes place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
In addition, on Monday, February 23, NRB15 will debut a special all-day event that will bring together Hollywood entertainment professionals, distributors, filmmakers, and executives for movie and entertainment-related keynotes, panels, seminars, networking events, and pitch-a-thon. Topics will include “How to Succeed in Mass Audience Movies, Television & Entertainment (Without Losing Your Soul),” script writing, development, directing, production, post movie screenings, filmmaker Q & As in the main sessions, and more.
In 2014, nearly 4,000 attended the NRB Convention. Next year’s event is expected to draw even more. While the Convention itself will kick off Monday, February 23, 2015, the Exposition will officially open its doors Tuesday at 11 a.m.
The event concludes Thursday night, February 26, 2015.
